My Passions

Friends & Family
I come from a big, close-knit family with three siblings and three nieces who mean the world to me. My friends play an equally important role in my life—they’re the people who push me, challenge me, and keep me grounded no matter where in the world I am. The communities I’ve built across different countries have shaped my values and the way I understand people.
My nieces especially influence how I think about the future. They remind me why I care about creating opportunities, supporting communities, and working toward a better world for the next generation.

Community Service
Community Service
Community service isn’t just something I do—it’s something that centers me. Growing up Sudanese, I saw firsthand how community, resilience, and hope can hold people together. The revolution in Sudan, especially, ignited my sense of responsibility to serve. Watching people fight for dignity and a better future showed me what real courage looks like—and it pushed me to find my own ways to contribute.
At the Aspen Institute, I had the chance to mentor high school students and watch them step into their strengths. Helping young people find confidence and direction reminded me how transformative opportunity can be. As a Bezos Scholar, I helped create a program for young African entrepreneurs, giving them the space to dream boldly and build solutions rooted in their own realities.
My work with 249 Startups was deeply personal. During the war in Sudan, I supported small farmers trying to protect their livelihoods in the middle of uncertainty. Their resilience, their stories, and their determination taught me that service is about standing with people—especially when the world feels heavy.
These experiences shape the kind of person I’m becoming and the work I want to dedicate my life to.

Travel
I’ve visited 24 countries and lived in 5 of them—10 in Africa, 8 in Asia, 2 in North America, and 4 in Europe. I love exploring new cultures, and I like to say I’m a citizen of the world. These experiences have shaped how I see people, communities, and opportunity, and they help me connect with people from all kinds of backgrounds.
Favourite
South Africa has been my favorite place I’ve lived in. I spent two years in boarding school at the African Leadership Academy, where the music, the people, and the spirit of community had a huge impact on me.
